WORLD CUP 2026 FINAL FIFA POWER RANKINGS

Spain have been crowned champions of the world after securing a hard-fought 1-0 win over defending champions Argentina in Sunday’s final in New York.

Midfielder Rodri took home the Golden Ball award courtesy of another influential display, while England claimed the World Cup’s bronze medal following a thrilling 6-4 win over France.

With the tournament now complete, the final FIFA Power Rankings, powered by Aramco, can be revealed.

ATTACKING:
Mbappé beats Bellingham and Messi to top spot

There was no World Cup for France superstar Kylian Mbappé, but he did finish top of the attacking category with a final score of 9.12. Mbappé’s two goals against England in the third-place play-off also saw him take home the Golden Boot award as the tournament’s top scorer on 10 goals.

In his final outing of the World Cup, Mbappé showed again how dangerous he is on the ball and in front of goal. The Real Madrid star also grabbed an assist, had eight attempts and completed five ball progressions to go with his two goals.

Jude Bellingham was on target again in England’s win over France to finish second in the attacking rankings with a score of 8.29. The ability to deliver vital goals in high-pressure knockout matches was behind his late surge up the rankings and past Lionel Messi.

Argentina’s talisman ended the tournament in third place on a score of 8.06. The 39-year-old was inspirational for the defending champions, driving them to another final with his goals, assists and ability to progress the ball.

CREATIVITY:
Olise back on top despite France defeat

France star Michael Olise regained top spot in the creativity rankings with a score of 8.29 after the final round of games at World Cup 2026. The Bayern Munich man picked up two assists against England, completed 51 of his 57 passes and broke the lines nine times to end up as the World Cup’s top creator.

Messi finishes second with a score of 8.26 despite having a limited influence on the World Cup final due to Spain’s possession and control. Argentina’s talisman still completed 27 passes and four ball progressions but couldn’t match his semi-final showing against England where he contributed two vital assists and broke the lines 15 times by pass.

Mbappé completes the top three in the creativity category on 7.84 to finish ahead of Jeremy Doku and Lamine Yamal. There are also two big movers in the final set of creativity rankings, as England’s Marcus Rashford moves up 10 places to finish in seventh, while Spain star Alex Baena is just one spot behind after a rise of eight places.

DEFENDING:
Champions Spain set the standard

Spain’s World Cup win was built on solid foundations which are highlighted by La Roja taking the top four places in the defensive category of the FIFA Power Rankings, powered by Aramco.

Midfielder Rodri retains top spot with a score of 8.23 after another influential showing. In the final against Argentina, Rodri completed 99 of 105 passes, broke the lines 27 times, made four tackles, two interceptions and nine possession regains.

Just behind Rodri are Spain defenders Pau Cubarsi, Pedro Porro and Aymeric Laporte. The trio were part of a rock-solid backline that conceded just one goal throughout the entire tournament as La Roja married defensive security with controlled possession to finish on top of the pile.

GOALKEEPERS:
Pickford shines as Martinez makes late surge

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford finishes World Cup 2026 as the top goalkeeper in possession and in third place for defending the goal. The Everton stopper made 53 line breaks across the tournament and also contributed 15 saves from 23 attempts faced as the Three Lions finished third.

Spain’s Unai Simón was not too far behind Pickford after playing a key role in his team’s World Cup win. The goalkeeper was a calm, secure presence between the sticks for Spain, finishing second in possession and sixth for defending the goal.

Argentina, England and France all missed out on victory but the creativity and attacking power of the three teams were highlighted by the influential performances of superstars Mbappé, Olise, Bellingham and Messi.
